Privacy collection statement
Business Chamber Queensland ABN 55 009 662 060 (we, us or our) is committed to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). The purpose of this statement is to advise you that we may collect, use and disclose various personal information about you, including your name, email address, phone number and job role/position.
You may also choose to share information about your business with us that may include information about individuals within your business – for example, whether your business identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander business, whether your business is women owned and/or women led, whether your business is owned or operated by people with a disability, and whether your business is a culturally and linguistically diverse supplier. Where you share this information with us, we will collect, use and disclose it as described in this statement. If you provide us with someone else’s personal information, you should only do so if you have their authority or consent. You should also take reasonable steps to inform them of the matters set out in this statement.
This collection is for the purposes of establishing our relationship with you in connection with the ecoBiz program (Program) and/or the ecoBiz platform (Platform) (including to create your business’s profile and establish your credentials to access and engage with the Platform), facilitating our internal business operations, including the fulfilment of any legal and regulatory requirements, and providing you with information about us and the goods and services that we, or our related entities or organisations that we have affiliations with, offer that may be of interest to you. We may also derive insights from the information shared with us to develop reports on key trends on the businesses involved in the Program. Any information that we use in developing such reports will be on a de-identified basis.
In order to provide goods and services to you or otherwise fulfil the purpose for which we have collected your personal information, we may disclose information that may contain your personal information to third parties who assist us in operating the Program and/or the Platform, third parties to whom you have agreed we may disclose your information, or as otherwise required or authorised by law, from time to time. These third parties may include IT and technology service providers, professional advisors and government agencies involved in the establishment, operation or financial support of the Program and/or Platform, including the Department of Energy and Climate and the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation. We are not likely to disclose your personal information overseas, except as permitted by the Privacy Act, unless we otherwise advise you in writing.
Where you have agreed, we may also publicly display the information you have shared with us.
If the personal information you provide to us is incomplete or inaccurate, we may not be able to provide you with the goods and services you are seeking or otherwise fulfil the purpose for which the personal information has been collected. It is up to you to update your personal information. If you are unable to update your personal information held by us yourself you must notify us of the changes as soon as reasonably practicable.
